My thoughts about the just-concluded east finals between Detroit and Boston:
1. Credit goes to the Boston supporting cast for making big plays down the stretch.
a) Rondo's jumpshot that made it 83-76
b) Perkins' block of Billups' layup attempt
c) Posey's steal off Prince with Boston only up by four, 83-79.
2. Paul Pierce is really the main man for Boston not KG. Missing two crucial ft's and passing up on shots are not exactly the attributes of a main man. KG is really better when he's the no. 2 guy.
3. Much has been said about Doc Rivers' coaching but you have to credit him for putting Posey on Billups in the curcial minutes of the 4th quarter.
4. It's time for Joe Dumars to look for a replacement for Flip Saunders. Detroit has lost the last 3 east finals with the latter at the helm. Larry Brown was their coach the last time they made it to the finals. Maybe Joe Dumars can give it a try as the headcoach.
Sorry for my bold prediction of a Detroit-San Antonio finals
