Parting Shots
A little perspective on a rousing night at The Palace
No matter how the series plays out now, it’s clear that very little separates these two teams. It’s equally clear there is no formula for winning in this one. Home court so far hasn’t meant much. The Pistons’ two wins came by different means, as did Boston’s. There’s a delicate balance between poise and aggressiveness, adherence to the game plan and individual playmaking ability, execution and inspiration. It’s shaping up as a worthy successor to that wacky conference finals 21 years ago that began this rivalry.
NUMBERS CRUNCH
27
The number of assists the Pistons amassed on their 37 baskets, a 75 percent rate, well above the 56 percent of baskets credited with assists through the first three games of the series. It was also 10 more assists than the 17 the Pistons had averaged in the series.
That’s a sure sign the Pistons were doing a better job getting ball and player movement. Another sign of that is McDyess getting 14 shot attempts. Because he’s not the first, second or third option, the only way McDyess gets 14 shots is when the Pistons are swinging the ball.
We are Back on Track Gentlemen!!!
Game 5 is the Bloodiest Day of our Series!!!
