Celtics Win, Return to NBA Finals
With a spectacular fourth quarter, the Boston Celtics moved forth into the NBA Finals for the first time in 21 years.
Led by Paul Pierce, the Celtics rallied from a 10-point deficit in the final period for an 89-81 victory over the Detroit Pistons, closing out the Eastern Conference Finals in six games.
The Celtics are in The Finals for the first time since 1987, when they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers. Looking for their 17th title, they again will face the Lakers, who are in search of their 15th championship.
Boston opened the final period by making eight of its first nine shots, turning a 70-60 deficit into an 83-76 advantage. Leading the way was Pierce, the face of the Celtics for a decade who had a three-point play, a jumper and two free throws in a 74-second span, giving the Celtics the lead for good.
Pierce scored 27 points, Ray Allen added 17 and Kevin Garnett 16 for the Celtics, avoided a Game 7 for the first time in this postseason. Pierce, Allen and Garnett all are going to The Finals for the first time in their careers.
Chauncey Billups scored 29 points and Richard Hamilton added 21 - both while nursing injuries - for the Pistons, who were 6-of-18 with six turnovers in the telling fourth quarter.
Detroit has lost in Game 6 of the East Finals each of the last three seasons.
The NBA Finals open Thursday in Boston at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

i need to overcome this.
3 years of defeat mostly are from the conference finals.
SInce flip saunders took over, detroit failed in the conference finals.
heres what are the mistakes flip doing so far.
2006 - he beat every team with a blowout performance
the coaches found his weakness so they thwarted his own myth. they beat detroit 6 games
2007 - another conference exit same thing from the 2006 overconfident of the coach. and unforced errors.
2008 - another unforced errors by the players and flip's dissapointing tactics.

This is something that i cannot allow, detroit pistons needs more sons!!
sons of pistons!!, and so we lost again. for the next season, we will save the world from mystersity that we can imagine!!!, we cannot lose all the time.
we started from defeat, we should not end up with the defeat.
we can overcome our this. by starting with the coach.
firing flip is a blessing in disguise. forcing a black shadow to move out.
we need a coach, gentlemen. a coach with a potential leadership.
by this, we can overcome our failures by getting rid flip.
we should not trade some of our players. let them be improved by us.
we may use them. now flip did not realize his roster is too deep and stronger.
built for championship.
he never noticed. so than us fellows.
only guys like larry brown, chuck daly, jerry sloan, greg popovic and phil jackson can lead the team in the finals.
not flip saunders.
we should start over again. with our current roster. no trades gentlemen.
No Trades!!!
Whatever happens!! i will always be a piston. no leaving in the seats of palace.
loyalty is what ive learned from this team, friendship, relation and recognition.
my loyalty is to detroit......
