Lakers Returned to the NBA Finals

The Lakers are headed back to The Finals for the first time in four years.

The defending champs didn’t have enough to hold on to a 17-point advantage as Kobe Bryant erupted for 17 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter to dethrone the Spurs, 100-92, on Thursday and send the Lakers to The Finals for the first time since 2004.

Pau Gasol helped Los Angeles improve to a perfect 8-0 at STAPLES Center, notching 12 points and a playoff career-high 19 rebounds in Game 5.

Tim Duncan notched his fourth career playoff triple-double, but it wasn’t enough as San Antonio was unable to get stops on the defensive end down the stretch.

Kurt Thomas and Michael Finley were instrumental in helping San Antonio build its early lead, combining for 24 points and 11 rebounds. Tony Parker scored a team-high 23 points, including 11 in the final frame.

After taking the Western Conference Finals 4-1, the Lakers now await the winner of the Pistons-Celtics series. The NBA Finals tip off June 5 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

here what i am gonna say

kobe you did a great job, you proved to the whole world that you are deserving to enter that finals spot. you proved it this year, you showed leadership unlike before you were a ballhug now you work and do all assists to you team. involving everybody.

Lakers are back gentlemen this is a miracle.

LA boosted again to the finals.

great job to the spurs too but came too short.

i believe san antonio spurs and LA lakers rivalry will continue next year. this is the latest and the more improved rivalry of our time.

congratulations LA

Well I supposed the writing was on the wall after Game 4. I can't deny that but I'm going to say that the main reason Spurs lost is because they've just WASTED TOO MANY CHANCES.

The dominance that they have shown during the Suns was never there to be seen.

So, we will just jave to look forward to next season. After they did before, they can do it again, right?

Of course, next season I'll be looking at the arrival of Tiago Splitter. I hear he is an excellent player from Brazil but based in Spain.

Oh yes, incase if you wonder who do I expect to beat the Lakers in the final. YOU GUYS!!!

DETROOOOOOIIIIIITTTT!!!!! PISTONS!!!
Overall it has been a exciting season to watch.

Now both Manu & Oberto can look forward to the Olympics.

Of course you opinion about the game is always welcomed...
